Since his youth, Dr. Brody, affectionately known as "Bob," has been deeply intrigued by natural medicine and the intrinsic power of nature. This fascination was nurtured by his father, a seasoned Nutritionist and Homeopath. Bob also developed a sense of unwavering dedication and strong leadership capabilities at a young age, skills that led to attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout at 16 instead of the average age of 17. Additionally, he boasts a fourth-degree black belt in the traditional Japanese martial art of Aikido.
Dr. Brody earned his doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine, complemented by a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport Nutrition Institute. He holds licensure as a Naturopathic Physician in the State of Connecticut. His postgraduate training includes a residency at the Center of Excellence in Generative Medicine under the guidance of Dr. Peter D’Adamo. Additionally, he completed studies at the New England School of Homeopathy.
After completing his residency, Dr. Brody established a practice in Bridgeport, CT, and later expanded to include an insurance-based clinic in Newtown, CT, as well as a cash-based practice at the Connecticut Center of Integrative Medicine in Fairfield, CT.
Dr. Brody is recognized as the first board-certified Fellow from the American Board of Naturopathic Gastroenterologists (FABNG) in New England. His specialization lies in Small Intestinal Bacteria Overgrowth (SIBO) and other functional digestive disorders including GERD, IBD, functional dyspepsia, and more. Furthermore, he is board-certified in Generative Medicine, also known as Functional or Evidence-Based Natural Medicine, from the Institute of Naturopathic Generative Medicine (INGM).
In his clinical practice, Dr. Brody embraces a holistic approach, employing various tools such as advanced microbiome analysis software, digestive breath testings, nutritional genetic analysis, the SWAMI nutritional program, and many other tools to devise personalized treatment plans for his patients. His treatment modalities encompass botanical medicine (herbs), vitamins, minerals, supplements, and naturopathic manipulation, coupled with dietary and lifestyle modifications.
Dr. Brody actively participates in several professional associations, including membership with the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians(AANP), presidency of the Connecticut Naturopathic Physicians Association (CNPA), Fellowship with the Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (GastroANP), and membership in the Institute of Naturopathic Generative Medicine (INGM).
During his leisure time, Dr. Brody remains committed to an active lifestyle, exemplifying his holistic approach to health. He finds solace in running and practicing Aikido at his dojo, Kongoshinkan Aikido in Norwalk, VT. Additionally, he enjoys indulging in mountain biking and hiking adventures alongside his wife Meaghan and their loyal companion, Andy the dog. These activities are thoughtfully tailored to align with Dr. Brody's specific blood and genotype (Blood Type O Positive, Secretor, Hunter).
